Epcot with "the grandmothers"
While Dan's mom and grandmother were here, we made a trip to Epcot for Dan's birthday. We knew that rain was in the forecast but those adventurous grandmothers wanted to go anyway. WOW! When we got there, we headed straight to Test Track to get Fast Passes for later in the day. BUT, the wait was only 20 minutes so we decided to ride it then.
We knew we would have to do ride swap because Jonah just isn't tall enough. We have tried every time we have been at Disney to get on those 40 inch rides but he has hovered around that 38 inch mark. We walked up to the height board and would you believe his made it? I seriously almost cried! It was one of those mommy moments where I was so happy that he reached a milestone that he had been longing for but at the same time, I was a little sad that MY baby was tall enough to ride the roller coasters at Disney World! WOW! (Please ignore the "in pain" look on his face below. I wanted a picture of his standing there but as I tried to put him back under the measurement, I banged his head on the sign. OOPS!)
Yep, that's the super awesome daddy on his birthday with his big 40 inch boy! Such a great milestone to reach on Daddy's birthday.
I love Generation pictures. Especially when there are FOUR generations involved.
And, I couldn't let Jonah ride his first big boy ride without taking a picture. It is as if Disney World wanted to help me because our ride stopped in the middle and we sat there for 5-6 minutes before taking off. By the way, Dan's 82 year old grandmother totally rode Test Track!!! I was blown away. How awesome is she??
And, you can't go to Disney World in a group without taking a customary hat picture!!!
For Dan's birthday lunch, we ate at Teppan Edo's. It was SOOOO yummy! We love the entertainment factors of the Japanese restaurants.
As I said earlier, it rained A LOT while we were there. We were SOAKING wet. We all had jackets and ponchos but were still soaked. We could have spent a lot more time there that day but finally made the decision to call it a day. BUT, not before a few pictures in Japan.
On our way out, we decided to use our Fast Passes for Soarin' and ride it once more. It is such an awesome ride that you don't leave without using your fast passes! After we rode it, we hopped on the boat for "Living With the Land." Jonah spent lots of time with Granny B on this ride. He was very interested in what she had to say.
These last few pictures speak volumes about our day. We felt nasty and looked pretty nasty too! And, as you can tell, Jonah was DONE!
