Christmas & New Years Celebration in Meridian

Dan's mom's side of the family has their Christmas over the New Year weekend every year. We were able to be part of that this year so we loaded up last Friday (along with Woody and Buzz) and headed to Meridian. Jonah was most excited about seeing Gavin. Next time, I will not tell him about Gavin before a 4 hour drive!!!
Dan's mom gave Jonah his Christmas gift when we got there. That gave the boys something to play with that night. I didn't think to take any toys??? Rookie mom!

Those boys played their little hearts out that night. They ran and jumped and screamed and hid. It was so fun to see them play together. They are so close in age that they are at the same place developmentally so neither of them overpowers the other one. And, it appears that neither of them will ever have any interest in using the potty!!!! :-)
The next morning, I was peeling an orange for Jonah when Gavin decided to show us how he can peel an orange. Not wanting to be outdone, Jonah took his turn peeling an orange. Check out the look on his face!

The weather was nice so we got to go outside for a little while. Those boys would ALWAYS rather be outdoors.

No matter what is going on, TV will always capture them. Curious George was on and they would play a little then stop and watch TV a little.

Granny B gave them their gifts from her and that kept them entertained for a little while. They were both more interested in what the other one got. I guess that starts early in life!!

Jon played blocks with them for a little while. Jonah wanted Jon to build a tower. He was somewhat bossy with his instructions for Jon. At least Jon is a good sport and played along. You could tell the boys were pretty impressed with him.
Dan's mom gave Jonah and Gavin a bank with some "monies" to put in it. This kept them occupied while the adults opened gifts.

We had a good visit with everyone but had to leave around lunch on Saturday to make it back here for some obligations Saturday night. It is a good thing because we went to bed at 8 p.m. and slept 12 hours. I guess we were tired??

Wow! Jonah is going to think Christmas is a month long event (actually, come to think of it, it kinda is...and why shouldn't it be!) We need to incorporate that kind've Christmas into Avery's life. Running to 3 different houses on Christmas day is near impossible!
