New Plate

We have been in the process for a few months now of transitioning Jonah into more "big boy" eating habits. To aid in that process, I have purchased a few different fun plates, bowls, cups, etc. for dinner time. I brought a new dinnerware set home for him tonight while he was in the midst of having a snack of whole grain cheerio snack mix.

He instinctively knew the new set was his (maybe the fire truck gave it away?) and took it from me. I thought he just wanted to see it. Instead, he put it on the floor, sat down and proceeded to take each individual cheerio out of his bowl and place it on the plate.

After he did this, he moved them from the plate back to his bowl then back to the plate again. After the plate held all the cheerios, he ate them. (Only after giving Max a stern "NO-NO!")

When he realized they were all gone, he held out his hand for more. (For the life of us, we cannot get him to say, or even attempt PLEASE!) I poured some in his bowl and he spent the next 45 minutes moving them from bowl to plate and back to the bowl again. Every few minutes he would eat one or taunt Max with one.
When he was done, he handed me the plate so I could put it in the dishwasher. I love how he doesn't like messes!!!

Yes, two comments in the same day. Good Luck with that...that is the new eating habits. Now that Natalie knows how to use spoon, fork, etc., she often prefers to use her hands. Eating a whole cup of yogurt with little hands is quite messy!
