Yesterday at lunch, we said our prayer and then started eating. We were chatting away and I look over at Micah and see this.
He wanted to say his prayer too. He just prayed and prayed all the while oblivious to the world around him. The sweet thing (that I really wasn't able to capture) about his prayer was the little smile he had while he prayed.
Sometimes, prayer seems hard and overwhelming. We just talked about this in the college Sunday School class yesterday. We don't always know the right thing or the right way to pray. And, most of the time, we end up just asking God for a bunch of stuff and sometimes forget to just thank Him.
Micah is certainly at the age where thanking God is what he does most. He only asks God for something when prompted by us (ie. Help us sleep good tonight, Help ____ feel better, etc.) but he is so quick to thank God for everything. If he laid eyes on you that particular day, he thanked God for you.
I could learn a lot from this little guy...
