He is going downhill fast...

Day four of VBS and this was Micah at drop off.  My social butterfly did NOT want his mommy to leave this morning.

Time for haircuts

As I was bucking Micah into his car seat this morning, I realized he needed a hair cut.  I looked at Jonah and thought the same thing.  So, I made a mental note to schedule appointments for both of them.  Then, I came home this afternoon and decided to do a little blog catch up.  I found these pictures in the draft folder just waiting to be blogged.  To show you how far behind I am, these were from TWO hair cuts ago.  Have I mentioned lately how much I love summer break???  I have FULLY enjoyed my boys and the blog has certainly suffered.

This is the day Jonah decided to go with spikes.  He hasn't changed his mine since.  He loves the spikes in the front.  I do too.

VBS 2012

Today was the first day of VBS!  (Speaking of which, what on earth am I doing up at 11:19 p.m. beginning a post about VBS????)  I yawned a good portion of the day since I went to bed after 1:00 a.m. and left my house an hour before Micah usually wakes up.  Definitely a short night of sleep.

Day one actually went very well.  We were all out the door (with two extra people) on time and made it to the church in plenty of time.  I got the boys settled and then jumped right into helping with registration.  It was good to see so many people from Jonah's school.  Many of his friends ended up in the same class as Jonah and he loved that.

Micah went dressed in his cute "color of the day" outfit but took a little fall and got blood on his shirt.  So, he had to change clothes early on.  He didn't seem to mind though!  Mandy sent me this picture from their little wagon ride across campus.

I picked Jonah and Rylan up from their class and wanted to take their picture.  This is what they gave me!  Boys!!  My, oh my!  This is my life!  (and, I wouldn't trade it for all the hair bows in the world!!!)

We left VBS, rushed home to feed and bathe the boys then headed out the door to Orlando.  We made plans several months ago to meet our former Pastor from our church in Erlanger.  We had not seen him in 11 years!  It was great to see him, have dinner and catch up.  Before meeting him, we made a run to Sam's to buy some food for the VBS workers snack room.

By the time we got back from Orlando, delivered all the food to the church, got the kids in the bed and got everything ready for tomorrow, it somehow ended up being after 11:00 p.m.  As much as I would love to show you all the pictures of my cuties from today, I must get some sleep.

Until tomorrow...

Jonah's new Bible

Now that Jonah can read, we have been in the market for a new Bible for him.  His last Bible was full of pictures and paraphrased stories.  So, we did lots of research to find a Bible for him.  Dan really wanted to give him the same thing he preaches from but there were no NIV Bible for Young Readers.  So, we settled on the NIrV.

He was so proud carrying his Bible into church this morning.  I told him last night that when he got to Sunday School then he just needed to ask Mrs. JoAnn to help him find the scripture in his Bible.  I assured him she wouldn't mind helping him.  He said "Then I will ask her to help me find it and I will ask my daddy to help me when we get to church!'  I had to explain that Daddy couldn't come down from the pulpit to help him but that I would be glad to help.  He said "I guess that is okay!"
I snapped these couple of pictures during church when he was reading along while Dan read the scripture.  Oh, how I hope and pray that this young little mind will soak up as much of God's word at an early age.  I've found myself praying numerous times today that he will always have a genuine love and desire to know the written word of God.
