A favorite day

Yesterday, as we walked through Epcot, Jonah and Clare were playing some silly game.  After lots of giggles, Jonah escaped Clare and ended up next to me.  He grabbed my hand and said "Isn't this great?  This has been my favorite day in a long time!"

What a gift to have friends from Vidalia here for a few days.  Pics to come soon but for now, we are off to the beach for another favorite day!

Saturday with the fam

Last Saturday, we got the boys dressed and headed out the door.  Our first stop was breakfast at Cracker Barrel.  That is one of Jonah's top two places to eat.  The other, as most of you know, is Subway.  He would eat Cracker Barrel every day if he could.  He loves their pancakes.  I skip a kids meal for them and just let the boys share "Momma's Pancake Breakfast" then bring the rest of it home.

While we waited for our table, Jonah played checkers with his daddy and Micah tried out EVERY. SINGLE. ROCKING. CHAIR.

After Cracker Barrel, we went to every Furniture store in Daytona looking for a new kitchen table.  I sold our old one on Craigslist about a month ago.  I've yet to find anything I love since then.  I was determined to find something that day since our friends from Vidalia arrive today and my mom arrives next week.  But, we had no luck.  So, I guess our guests will eat on the 6 foot folding table we borrowed from Ms. Dottie.  Classy!

After no success on the table hunt, we stopped at Babies R Us in hopes of finding a jogging stroller.  No luck there either.  We tortured poor Micah by putting him in stroller after stroller to test them.  The ones we liked the feel of had him reclining too much.  The ones he seemed to like were to bumpy or awkward for us.  SO....do any of you have a recommendation of a good jogger?  Dan wants to run with him while Jonah and I are out on our bikes.  We want it to have good sun protection and a swivel wheel.  (Which I know is not the sign of a TRUE jogger but we want to use it at theme parks also!)

The whole time we were in BRU, Jonah kept asking if he could ride the Dumbo ride on our way out.  So, as we finished, I put the money in for him to ride.  When the ride was half done, I asked if Micah could ride with him.  He was so sweet to scoot right over and make room for him.  The following pictures are a great depiction of how he treats and loves Micah.  Look at how sweet he was.

An afternoon with Colton

A couple of weeks ago, Dan had an afternoon golf game scheduled so I took the boys to visit a friend.  Colton is 7 months younger than Micah and still not so sure he likes him.  Colton is typically a smiley baby.  When Micah is around, he looks scared to death.  He sits completely still and stares him down.  It is really quite hysterical to watch.  Margie says she has never seen him so calm and still as when my boys are around.

My boys had a BLAST with all of his toys.  This makes me even more convinced that parents should buy about 8-10 toys and then just rotate them between other parents.  Kids always seem to like the toys other kids have more than their own.

Colton lives on a golf course and it just so happened to be the course that Dan was playing that day.  When we thought he would be getting close to the hole they live on, we went on the back porch to watch for him.
Check out his feet.  I didn't make him put shoes on and he relished every second of being shoeless!

Jonah's face was almost as dirty as Micah's feet.  Almost!

We finally saw Dan and Robb tee off so we walked down the cart path to see them.  Jonah was especially happy to see his daddy.

Dan let Jonah go over to look for his ball with him and then to the green for the final shots. That was great at first but Jonah got the idea he was going to finish the round with them.  He was quite sad when he discovered that was not going to happen.

After we played outside for a while, we went back inside to play with Colton's toys for a while.  Jonah especially enjoyed his toys.  So much so that he cried on the way home because it is "just so sad to leave all the fun toys!"
