Friday play dates

**all photos are from my Iphone since my Canon is at the repair shop after an unfortunate fall!**

Yesterday was a new experience for our family. Dan and Jonah went one direction for the day and Micah and I went the other. We were invited to a play date at a friend's house with a couple of other mommies and little ones. Since none of the kids were Jonah's age, Dan took him and a friend bowling.

Micah was thrilled to see his friend Miller. They love to stare at each other. We already have lots of pictures of the two of them doing that. Miller was nice enough to share his bed with Micah so he could take a long nap. He missed most of the play date since he was sleeping. But, that just gave me more time to visit with the sweet mommies who were there.

Right before Micah woke up, Dan called to tell me I needed to meet him at the park. There was a serious emergency with a family in our church and he needed to get over there ASAP. He had just gotten to the park after getting food for the boys. I left the play date, drove to the play ground and took over park duty with the boys. When I drove up, they looked at me like I had two heads. It was as if they were saying "seriously, we are loosing the cool dad and gaining the not so cool mom??"

Once I started pushing them on the tire swing, creating and timing obstacle courses and being the tickle monster, they were just fine with me taking over. That was until we had to leave for 1:30 p.m. haircuts. Seriously, who wants to leave a park for a haircut?

Minus the terrible tragedy in our church family, it was a good day. The boys had fun. We had fun. And, we ended the day with the sweetest conversations with Jonah about what Good Friday means and why Jesus died for us. It won't be long until that little heart gets it and makes the biggest decision of his little life. I'm praying for that day. I can't wait!

Tball clothes?

I bought Micah a few baseball clothes to wear at Jonah's t-ball games ad practices. Unfortunately, he never got to wear them before Jonah's season came to an abrupt end. So, he is sporting them now even though it seems we might be a no baseball family. :-(

Sunday afternoon photos

Playing together...kind of?

Jonah is desperate for his baby brother to start playing with him. He always asks when Micah will talk to him, go outside with him, talk to him and play with him. I have started putting Micah on the floor with Jonah while he plays. Jonah thinks they are playing together. He talks to him. He hands him toys. He makes noises for him. It is so sweet to see their little relationship develop.

Orlando Science Center

The day Zoo-Zoo flew home was one of the worst weather days I have seen in our 18 months as Florida residents. We dropped her at the airport at 11:30 for a 1:30 flight. She was delayed over and over again and did not end up flying out of Orlando until around 6 p.m. She should have been back in Vidalia by that time but was just leaving here.

We kept Jonah out of school that day so he could go to the airport with us and so we could do something as a family while we were in Orlando. If you remember, Dan had been gone to Atlanta all week so we knew Jonah would enjoy some time with his daddy. Unfortunately, due to the terrible weather, every tourist in Central Florida who could not do theme parks, was also in Orlando looking for a family adventure.

We (and two thousand other people) settled on the Orlando Science Center. Jonah was excited about the new Curious George exhibit they had. He loves him some Curious George.

He enjoys any time of hands on activity, so a children's museum is perfect for him. And, considering the terrible weather, it was perfect for all of us. Dan basically took Jonah duty and I kept Micah entertained.

It was a fun day to be together as a family. Doing things like this is so different since we added Micah to our family. It means I can't always be as involved as I would like but that is just part of the adjustment of being a growing family. Jonah didn't seem to mind the full attention from his dad and Micah certainly didn't mind being the object of my affection for several hours.

Zoo-Zoo comes to visit

Back in March, our sweet Zoo-Zoo came all the way from Vidalia to visit us Jonah! For those of you who know her, you know what a BIG deal this is. She hasn't flown since Josh was 3. Josh is now 31. See, REALLY big deal that she flew here!!

My little boy was so over the top about her visit. He could hardly contain himself. We stopped at Sam's on the way to the airport. He saw the flowers and just had to buy some for her.

After she came through the gate, he wanted nothing else to do with me. He was all about his Zoo-Zoo. He showed her some of her favorite parts of the airport. He kind of wanted to stick around there for a while but I convinced him to let us go home.
While she was here, they did tons of fun things. From reading books to art projects, they had a blast. It is really the first time we have seen Jonah be jealous with Micah. He did not want her to do anything with him. He wanted her undivided attention.

But, some of the time she was here found Jonah in school so she got some special bonding time with Micah. And, as you can imagine, he fell in love with her too!

We headed over to Daytona Beach and Ponce Inlet one afternoon so Sue could see the Atlantic Ocean. She had never seen it before. Had it not been so chilly, we would have taken Jonah's suit but that day was especially cold and windy.

I tried to take a picture of Micah in the sling on the beach but he kept burying his face because the wind was driving him CRAZY. So, here ya go, Micah's first trip (outside of the car) to the beach.

We got all dressed and ready for church Wednesday night only to stay home because of the terrible weather. The power at church was out so there was no need to go. They sent everyone home. Since we were all dressed, I decided to take a few pictures.

Then, Jonah decided he wanted to take a few. If I didn't have any pride, I'd show you the rest of them. But, some pictures just aren't meant for public viewing. I've sent them to Sue and we have decided to keep those private!! Nothing but silliness! Makes me laugh now just thinking about them.

Our visit was so much fun and much needed medicine for our souls. We all love our Zoo-Zoo and can't wait to see her again!!
