Minnie's book

Jonah and I walked through Minnie's house today while we were at The Magic Kingdom. He stopped at the book on her coffee table to look at it and I remembered having a picture of him standing there on his first trip back in 2007. So, I snapped one of him today in the same place. I love comparison pictures! And, now that I have two boys, I hope you like comparison posts too because I have a feeling there will be lots of them. :-)

Same outfit, different baby

Micah went with us to the Stetson Staff Christmas party tonight. I put him in an old Ralph Lauren outfit of Jonah's. When I uploaded the pictures, I remembered Jonah wearing this so I went to the blog in search of the pictures of him in the same outfit. I was quite surprised to discover the age that Jonah wore this versus the age Micah is wearing it.

You can click HERE to see the post of Jonah in this same outfit.

Cantaloupe??

What is it with my children and cantaloupe? The following two pictures were taken in September of 2006 when Jonah was about six weeks old. Tim Welch (long before he was named MeMaw by Jonah) introduced Jonah to cantaloupe.

Then again tonight, at the Stetson staff Christmas party, Dave Edwards offered some to Micah. He is just shy of six weeks old. I guess they are both destined to like cantaloupe?!?!

Last Friday

I had a Christmas brunch/play date to attend last Friday morning so I did my best to get both boys dressed, fed and out the door without waking their daddy. I could tell he was really tired the night before so I wanted to let him sleep as much as he could since we would be gone all morning. It seems this Christmas season is a sad one for so many Stetson families. Since the week of Thanksgiving, he has done 8 or 9 funerals. He had to meet with a family that day at 1:00 so I knew if I could get them out the door without much hoopla then he could get some good rest. And, it worked! We got where we needed to be ON TIME and DRESSED and he got to sleep. Win-win!

I picked Jonah up from school at 12:30 and we headed home. Dan was gone to meet with the family about the funeral so it was just me and the boys. For the first time since being home from the hospital, the exhaustion hit! I could barely hold my eyes open. I knew Dan wouldn't be home for several hours so I did things to keep me awake. We had a Sunday School party to attend that night for one of the Senior Adult classes and I knew without a nap, I'd be a walking zombie.

Fortunately, I have a cuddly sleeping buddy who didn't mind a tired mommy. And, I also have a 4 year old who uses the camera pretty well!
Dan got home a little later and I took advantage of the opportunity to get a 3 hour nap!! Apparently I WAS tired! He and Jonah played the Star Wars Wii game. He woke me up in just enough to time to get dressed and wait for our baby sitters to arrive so we could head out. Then, when I got home, my little snuggle bunny was wide awake and ready for some play time with mommy!

Dan got Jonah dressed and ready for bed while I took care of the little one. His little face has developed some baby acne. Jonah never had one bump. It is already interesting to see the difference in these two boys.

Warm and Cozy

Mimi Visits

As you saw in a couple of other posts, my mom was here for a visit last week. She flew in to meet her newest grandson. While she was here, she stayed home with Micah on Sunday morning so I could go to church. Then, on Sunday night, we had a couple of Sunday School Christmas parties to attend so she stayed home with Jonah. That way she got some one on one time with both of the boys.

If you know my mom, you know she is a huge Ole Miss fan. She has an Ole Miss picture frame at home that she wanted a picture of the boys to go in it. So, she showed up with Ole Miss shirts for them. She obviously knows that Maroon is the preferred color around here but just wanted this picture for her frame, so we obliged. Hey, we are all about equal access around here! :-)

While she finished a story with Jonah, I took Micah to his room to put his Ole Miss onesie on him. I snapped this picture of him staring at the Vinyl wall art above his changing table. He loves that. He stares at it 90% of the time he is on that changing table. I guess it is the contrast of the brown and green.

We left our house headed to the airport about the time Dan and Jonah left for school. So, we snapped a couple of pictures then headed out the door. Jonah was sad to see his MiMi leave. He gets so attached to whoever visits these days because of all the attention he gets. When he got home that day, he asked who was coming next. I told him GiGi would be here next so now he asks every day if this is the day GiGi comes.
