On Saturday, a few weeks ago , I was in bed trying to be as still as possible when Dan rushed into the room and said "Where's your camera? The ice cream truck is coming!" First of all, let me say how wonderful my hubby is because he knew I was sick and wouldn't feel like going out there but knew I would not want to miss out on Jonah's first ice cream truck experience. But, I got up, grabbed my camera and followed them out the door.
In the moment I saw Jonah, it was obvious to me that I had been in bed all day and had not paid much attention to my little guy. He was in pajamas (4:30 p.m.), black yard boots and mardi gras beads. Regardless of his attire, he was still pretty cute to this momma!
We gave him some dollar bills and told him to wait on the grass until the truck stopped in front of us. He still wasn't sure what we were doing outside with money. As soon as he spotted a Scooby Doo snack, he figured things out pretty quickly.
Our neighbor (and friend from school and church) Graci Jan came down to get ice cream too. They were more into eating than having their picture taken.
I love first time experiences with Jonah. I love watching him try to figure things out. I love seeing his expression when he gets what we are doing. I love being his mommy!

Back in March, Dan had a meeting at the church one night so Jonah and I went to Dustin's on a date. Our original plan was to go to Publix to get something for dinner but Jonah said "I want to go to a place that has a table and they bring you a fork." So, we did! I love that Jonah is finally old enough to sit in a restaurant and have a good conversation. Love being this little boy's mommy!
Several weeks ago, Jonah was playing with his blocks while watching TV. He asked me to take a picture of his wall. I was already sick with this little baby and had no idea where my camera was so I told him no. He turned around and said "You don't take any pictures of me!" Um, yeah right! But, he turned around a couple of times and smiled just to show me how he would smile for the camera. So, I got up and found mine. So glad I did! Otherwise, I would have already forgotten this ordinary day!
