Neighborhood Play

A couple of weeks ago, we went to Disney but got home early enough to spend some time outside. We grabbed Jonah's bike and Max's leash and headed out for a walk around our neighborhood.

Jonah rode his bike for quite a while but then became jealous of us holding Max's leash. So, we put the bike up and let Jonah walk Max. Although, there were times that Max walked Jonah instead. That little dog is only 10 pounds but he is strong!

We walked to the next street over to the big open field. Max thought he had arrived in Heaven. He took off running like there was no tomorrow. Jonah took off after him. Those boys played and ran and played and ran more than I have ever seen them do before. Who needs playground equipment when there is a wide open field with a couple of hills?

There are two videos below that will make you laugh. At least they made us laugh. Enjoy!

The long awaited birdhouse

Ever since Jonah got tools for Christmas this year, he has wanted to build a birdhouse. I know there are kits out there to actually build them but Michaels had several ready made bird houses that were just waiting to be painted. Jonah chose the rocket ship. I even let him use his money that he received in Valentine cards to purchase all the supplies. He thought he was super cool for having his own money.

I told him he could pick three colors of paint. He chose pink, purple and yellow. After a little convincing, he changed his mind to red, white and blue. I knew that would make his dad happier than the princess colors.

We saved this special project for him to do with Mimi while she was here. But, believe it or not, this is the second set of visitors that spent time here without my camera coming out. My mind was still so fresh about the the new baby that I never thought once about taking pictures when my mom and grandmother were here. So, there isn't a post with the finished project. Ooops!

Alaska Update

I pulled out my calendar from 2005 to count how many weeks I was when I first got sick with Jonah. I woke up Saturday saying "this is the exact day I got sick last time. As I was cooking breakfast for the DNow Band, the smell of sausage overtook me and I was immediately transported back to December 10, 2005. Ugh! Baby #2 decided to make me keenly aware of his/her presence on the same day of my pregnancy as Jonah did. That feeling has lasted since then.

I had my first appointment with my new OB today. He was super nice and we felt very confident after leaving his office. I'm glad to have that decision made and behind me. He came highly recommended by several friends who I trust.

Oh, and if you are wondering about Alaska...that is Jonah's new choice for a baby name. As you can imagine, we are open to other suggestions. :-)
