IPhone Photos (Part 1)

On Valentine's Day last year, I got an Iphone from my wonderful boss! I've been taking pictures on that phone for a year now and none of them have ever made the blog. I have uploaded a few of them to Facebook over the past year but I know lots of my readers aren't on Facebook. So, I decided to go through the 500+ pictures on there and choose some of my favorites. I'm gonna post 20 or so each time. Some will have explanations, some won't need one.

The first picture in my
Iphone folder is this one. It cracks me up each time I see it. Dan was away at school when Jimmy gave me my phone. Jonah had an appointment with Docka Russ. I don't remember what was going on here but he was pouting about something. I took this picture and sent it to Dan to show him what he was missing! :-)

My first Wednesday night to keep the nursery after getting my phone was one of Eli's first few times in the nursery. I took several pics on my phone to send to his mommy so she would know he was okay!

The next night, we had one of our weekly Thursday night dinners at Sue's house. These pictures are especially memorable now because of the pictures of Tommy. The one of him holding his water in front of his face makes me smile. As much as he loved taking pictures, he did not like having his picture taken.

Later that night, Jonah wanted to help Amanda change Eli's diaper. He was so sweet to him and was all about "helping!"

We had lunch at Subway the next week and a certain 2 year old that was with us broke the counter. Not on purpose though! He was trying to see and wasn't quite tall enough. When he tried to pull up to see, the whole thing came down. Um, OOPS!

My boss from home just emailed me pictures from the big snowfall in Natchez & Vidalia. WOW! We lived there 7 years and never came close to seeing anything like this!! He drove by the church and our old house to take these pictures.

My little hugger!

My little boy likes to hug girls. These pictures were taken last Friday when Mikenzie was leaving our house. But, since then, I have walked in on him at preschool hugging Amber. Yesterday, he and Graci Jan were hugging in our living room while I made snacks. When he saw Gentry Rose at church Wednesday night, he ran to hug her. The good news is that he likes to hug his mommy too!

My Nascar Man!!!

I just got this picture from Bob. He invited Dan to go to the Daytona Speedway today. The big race (Daytona 500) is Sunday but today is the Gatorade Duel.

The Gatorade Duel At Daytona will feature two thrilling 150-mile qualifying races that will finalize the field for the Daytona 500. Every entrant in the Daytona 500 will race as they fight for a Daytona 500 starting position in their respective Gatorade Duel At Daytona qualifying race. The tension will be at an all-time high for teams that have to secure a starting spot through their finish. (I totally looked that up on the website. I had no idea what it was!!)

When Bob asked him to go, he initially told Bob that he couldn't because he had to work. I encouraged him to work this morning then go with Bob this afternoon and then make up the time on on day off tomorrow. So, that is what he is doing. I think he needs to take advantage of opportunities like this and new experiences whenever he can. And, it worked out great because Bob is on the personnel committee and has to be back at the church tonight for the same meeting that Dan has.

Mathias' 4th birthday

A few weeks ago, Jonah was invited to Mathias' 4th birthday party. It was a costume party so we let Jonah look at his costumes and choose what he wanted to be. He chose Peter Pan immediately.
Since there was heavy rain in the forecast, Mequel had to make a quick change of location and we ended up at the church nursery for the party. The kids were way okay with that.

Look at this cute birthday boy! He had great fun at the party and we enjoyed watching him!
Here is Jonah with his SERIOUS face! You can tell he is fighting to giggle but he held out long enough for me to get a picture. Cracks me up!

Way back WHENsday

Since I am about to head out the door to take Dan's granny and mom back to the airport, I thought I'd do this "Way Back" post about Granny's 80th birthday in Memphis. Jonah was just under 14 months old and not all that thrilled about having a photo taken with his great grandmother!

"Get your teeth outta the way!" (a.k.a. Dan's birthday cake)

Happy Birthday Dan!

I love birthdays. I really, really love birthdays. I love celebrating the day God blessed our world with the lives of people I love. Two of my favorite days each year are Dan's birthday and Jonah's birthday. Each year, on those days, I celebrate the gift of those two guys and I think about how they have impacted so many lives, especially mine!

Today is Dan's 36th birthday. He took the day off of work to spend it with us. We will do lots of fun things but my heart will be focused on spending the day thanking God for the gift of my husband. Not just to me, but to this world. Last year, I wrote a blog post listing my favorite 35 things about him. You can click HERE to read that. While our life has almost changed completely over the last year, those things I wrote then remain the same.

Happy Birthday Dan! I love you and am so honored to walk this journey of life with you. You make every day better. I'm blessed to be yours!

"I'm Going to DisneyWorld!!"

When we heard Drew Brees was going to be in a ticker tape parade at Disney World today, we decided we had to go! Dan took an extended lunch break and we headed over to the Magic Kingdom. I wanted Jonah to go but he kept saying "I don't want to go to Disney World!" We knew the magic would wear off one day but I didn't think it would happen so soon! Actually, I think he was just so happy to have undivided attention from his GiGi and Granny B that he chose to stay home.

As we were sitting on the curb waiting for the parade, we noticed the Fleur
de Lis on top of the buildings on Main Street. It was as if even Disney was rooting for the Saints to win the big game.

I was a bit surprised to see the generic color scheme of the parade. I felt sure they would be decked out in Black and Gold and have the Saints logo everywhere. I mean, after all, this IS Disney. They tend to go ALL OUT!!!
We had incredible seats and got some great shots of the Louisiana hero. It was a fun experience.
