Our Pool

We are very fortunate to have a few pools that are available to us throughout the summer months. Since Jonah is at the age that one of us has to be in the water with him, we decided to get him a plastic pool for the days we don't exactly have time to get wet with him. The pool cost only $17 and I can assure you we have already gotten our money's worth!!

It was a beautiful, sunny day when I filled the pool up. By the time Jonah woke up from his nap and got out there, it had turned a little chilly. But, he wanted to get in anyway. He would shiver every now and then. I only let him stay in for about 15 minutes that day but he loved every single minute. He was even putting his face in the water and blowing bubbles. I'm thinking that might come in handy next week when he starts swim lessons!

Max even liked the pool. Although, he thought it was a large water bowl just for him!!

There are two videos for you to see. The first is when I took him outside to surprise him with the pool. He had no idea it was out there! The second video is just fun times in the pool. Be sure to turn your volume up!

My cool dude!!

We stopped by the church one day last week to check on the progress. Obviously, this was before we occupied the building. Jonah is always more than willing to stop by the church to see his daddy in the midst of the day. He had his shades on so I had to snap a picture. (imagine that?) It may be one of my new favorites. He looks like such a little boy in the picture.

He walked in and went straight to help "Misser Ricky work." He was convinced Ricky needed his help. After he worked with Ricky for a while, he spotted the new kneeling/prayer benches. He asked what they were so I told him and then encouraged him to go try them out.

After he prayed, he decided to sweep the floor. He kept saying "This floor is dirty but I clean it, okay mommy?"

I'm glad Jonah was able to be part of seeing this project come full circle. It has been an adventure for our church and for our family.

My own superhero

A certain little boy likes to show me his muscles. ESPECIALLY when he is wearing his superhero shirt. I must say...I have never seen a cuter super hero!!

These were taken a couple of weeks ago but I haven't had time to post them. I'm in a "miss my little boy" mode right now so I am catching up the blog while staring at this sweet little boy. (WHO, by the way, IS ALMOST POTTY TRAINED!!! YAY FOR MIMI!!!!)

Videos from a road trip

Since Jonah is away with my mom for a few days, I thought I'd brighten your day with a couple of videos. If he happens to ever break into the music industry, these will be worth a lot!

Before & After

Today was the big day! We had our first service in our renovated and expanded sanctuary. It was so nice to be back in there and to see the changes. It really is incredible. The sanctuary used to be very dark with lots of wood and mainly red/pink interior colors. Everything is neutral now and so much brighter. I am posting pictures from the sanctuary before the renovation and then from today. My camera was on the wrong setting and I did not realize it until looking at the pictures I took tonight. While the lighting change is evident in these pictures, they are no comparison to how different and better the lighting is.

There are still some aesthetic things that need to happen but that will come in the next few weeks. We are just grateful to finally be in there!
