What a performer!

Jonah walked into the gym last Wednesday and headed right to the stage. Part of that was due to his excitement of seeing his daddy. The other part was the microphone on the stand next to his daddy. The kid LOVES holding a microphone. He also loves the attention he gets from the accompanists each week.
He spotted Matthew while they were rehearsing and headed straight for him. He knows Matthew lets him play the drums and the cymbals. He is very, very fond of Matthew.

He was really impressed because Matthew took it off of the stand and all of the sudden it was closer to his size. That way, he could play it without being held.

This little video is too cute. In case you can't tell, he is singing along but he is singing the ABCs instead.

Watch me! Watch me!

Jonah is quite impressed that he can get in his carseat, put his straps on and buckle himself in. Dan hasn't seen him do it so when Dan put him in the car at Subway last week, Jonah instructed Dan to watch and Mommy to take pictures. He's such a manager!

MeMaw's cool hat light!!

We went down to Tim and Belinda's earlier in the week for dinner. Tim left to go hunting while we were there. Jonah was super impressed with the green lights on his hat. He put the hat on Jonah and he thought he was so cool! His daddy doesn't have any cool hunting toys like this. Everyone tells him if he is to ever go hunting, it will be up to MeMaw or Cliff to take him. Dan says "Fine by me!"

Just like his dad

Have you ever tried to take a picture of a 2.5 year old little boy when he was watching cartoons? These are the same faces I get from Dan when I try to get his attention while he is watching TV.

That is what happens when you tell him you are going to turn off the TV if he doesn't smile for the camera.

Rain, Rain Go Away

I told Jonah and Julia we had to leave the playground because it looked like it was about to rain. They burst into song!

A fun afternoon with my boy!

Jonah looks like the typical American driver, riding down the road with a cell phone up to his ear. I hate to allow him bad habits at such an early age but it was a very important call...DADDY! Dan is in class at NOBTS so we take every chance we can to talk to him during his free time. He happened to call while we were cruising down North Oak Street.

If you remember, Jonah got this TOT ROD for his first birthday. He has gotten tons of use out of it but is slowly outgrowing it. Someone suggested we put it on Craigslist or in the Classifieds and then use that money to upgrade to another motorized vehicle for him. We live in a great neighborhood that allows him to get tons of use out of things like this. I'm going to start scoping out the next step. I saw a cool red mustang at Walmart. They also had a big John Deere tractor. Stay tuned for our final choice.
Jonah drove his car all the way to the VLE playground. It was such a beautiful day that I wanted him to have as much time outside as possible. The playground was almost empty. He had so much fun running and jumping.

While we were at the playground, we saw Julia stroll by with her mom and Rita. I called Katie's cell to see if she wanted to leave Julia with us at the playground. Those two have so much fun together and she is never any trouble. Everyone at Jefferson Street assumes they are brother and sister. Their names have that certain ring!

When it was time to head back home, I encouraged Jonah to let Julia drive his car. I was so surprised when he asked her if she wanted to drive!! Teaching a 2 year old to be selfless and kind is tough!! It takes consistency but we are finally beginning to see some progress. He even helped her put her seat belt on.

After we made the turn on to Oak Street, Julia decided she wanted to push Jonah. Apparently, it was more fun to push than drive. We must have stopped 15 times in a stretch of road that is less than a tenth of a mile so they could switch places.

Just another cute video

Hide & Seek

A couple of days ago, Jonah wanted to play "Hide and Find me." (That would be Hide and Seek for all of you who don't know!) He told me to count while he hid. He didn't wait for me to close my eyes before he hid. And, even if I had closed my eyes, I don't think he would have been that difficult to find. Needless to say, this game of Hide and Seek didn't last very long. The longest part of the game was me going to get my camera to take this picture!!!

Way back WHENsday

I dug WAY back this week to find pictures for this weeks Way back WHENsday. I went back to 2004 and then Halloween of 2005. The first three pictures are from our trip to New York in October of 2004. Dan went to a conference at The Brooklyn Tabernacle. The Merritts, Knapps and Dan's dad and step mom all went with us. We had a wonderful, wonderful, wonderful time. The first picture is from our visit to The View.

Each night after we all went to our various Broadway shows, we met up for Coffee and Cheesecake at Roxy Deli. Their caramel apple cheesecake is absolutely WONDERFUL!!!!
Since we went at the end of October, it was perfect weather during the day but very chilly at night. ESPECIALLY on top of the Double Decker. Being from the south, I don't get to wear gloves and a scarf very often.
Earlier in 2004, Dan & I went on a cruise. (Man, 2004 was a great vacation year for us!!!) Anyway, this vacation was our last break before our pastor left. We knew he was visiting a church in view of a call and would likely be resigning when we returned. We did a whole lot of evaluating and praying on this trip! It was a great week for us.
I couldn't do this post with including a picture of Max since all these other pictures are Pre-Jonah. This was our CLOWN year of Trunk or Treat. It was also the last year Max got to attend the big event because Jonah came along the next year!! (Poor Max!)
