Early last week, Dan called and said "Why don't we use one of our free hotel nights and stay at Disney Thursday night?" We already planned to be there Friday with Reagan, Malinda and Sara Madalin so that was a great plan on his part. We decided to get tickets to Mickey's Christmas Party just to make it even more special. Jonah and I left early in the day since Dan had to work on Thursday. We got there just in time to see JoJo and Goliath come out to meet people.
After we left them, we headed inside because it started sprinkling. I chose the building that I knew how a few character spots. We spotted Mr. & Mrs. Incredible immediately so we headed that way. I noticed Jonah pulling back from me then I looked down and he was shaking his head. He was scared. Poor guy! I have not seem his even the least bit intimidated by a character since Santa in 2007. We walked up to meet him and he got so scared that he started backing up and caused me to trip over him and we both fell!
Mr. Incredible was so, well...INCREDIBLE! He got down on the ground next to us and just tickled Jonah. He was giggling so hard and trying to tickle him back. Everyone in line was laughing. He never warmed up enough to get up and have his picture made but at least he wasn't petrified.
As we left The Incredible's, we saw the place for UP. Jonah "wanted to give them hugs and tell them I like their movie!" So, we did!
When we got back outside, the rain had stopped but we noticed the Playhouse Disney show was starting. So, we ran over and barely made it inside the door. This was Jonah's first show to see back in 2008 when he visited Disney as an almost 2 year old. He loved it just as much this time.
Dan called to say he was leaving work around 3 p.m. so Jonah and left Hollywood Studios and headed towards our hotel. Jonah needed a nap before Mickey's Christmas party. It would not be over until midnight and we knew he couldn't hang all night with no nap during the day. As we were leaving, we caught the parade.
Jonah was able to get a great nap in before we headed to the Magic Kingdom. We were amazed at how small the crowd was. He was able to ride the teacups 5 times without having to get off. We only got out of a teacup long enough to get into another one. It was great. We basically did that all night long. Once he found something to ride, we just did it over and over until he was ready to move on. THAT is the way to do Disney!
As we were walking towards Big Thunder Mountain Railroad to measure him, we spotted Abu and Genie from Aladdin. Jonah was over the top impressed to meet them. He ran to Genie first to hug him and Abu hung his head. Jonah quickly turned to give him a hug too!
After lots of rides, we headed to Main Street to stake our spot for stage show, parade and fireworks. We had a great spot to see it all.
I could not help but laugh when I turned and saw Jonah walking to the car at 12:30 a.m. His future really is so bright, you know...he's gotta wear shades!
