Daddy made a mess!

I love my little obsessively neat child! He hates for his hands or clothes to get dirty. Apparently, he doesn't like Dan's clothes to be dirty either. I walked in from work today and Dan said, you've gotta see this. He called Jonah over and Jonah immediately pointed to Dan's shirt and told me "Daddy mademess" I grabbed the camera in hopes of him repeating himself.

The last day of Preschool

Today was Jonah's last day of preschool for this year. Yeah, I cried! Yeah, I need help! I didn't cry because it was over. I cried because I thought back to the day he toddled into Jefferson Street Preschool. He seemed like such a baby to me then. My meltdown came while I was at work. I realized that 9 months had passed and he was no longer a baby but a little boy. I love all the new things he is doing and how his vocabulary is expanding and how much fun he is. But, I miss the baby days. I guess it is good that two of my best friends here in Vidalia are both having babies this year. Diane is due in September and Amanda is due in November. Anyway...

Since today was the last day of school, I left my camera with Mrs. Audley and Mrs. Shannon so they could take a few pictures. They attempted to get a group shot but after 3 attempts realized a good shot might be impossible!

I got there early enough to see the kids finish their lunch. They had a special meal from Dairy Queen today.

I picked up Marlie today because Diane had another appointment. I guess it was fitting for them to leave preschool together since they walked into that building together 9 months ago. Yeah, that made me cry too! I'm such a sap today! Can you imagine the day he graduates from high school????

Jonah and his "beer"

A couple of months ago, Jonah participated in the St. Jude Trikeathon at his daycare. He raised $400 and apparently one several prizes. I had forgotten all about them until I dropped him off yesterday morning. There was a big bag of stuff waiting for him. One of the things was a stuffed bear. I showed it to him when Dan was changing his diaper. He took one look at it and said "Hey beer! My beer!" When it was time for bed, he wanted his "beer." Dan went in to check on him while I was in the tub. He said, you've gotta see him all snuggled up to his bear. I told him to get my camera and take a picture. He took 6! How cute is this?

Update on our friends

Many of you have called or emailed asking about our friends I mentioned in the last post. I spoke with them yesterday and again today. This is a HUGE day and they covet all of our prayers. The birth mother and baby will be discharged today. The baby will leave the hospital with our friends. Tomorrow morning will end the 72 hour wait and the birth mother and birth father will then sign the papers to release custody to our friends.

PLEASE stop now and say a short prayer for our sweet friends are so excited but yet very cautious at this point. Also, pray for this birth mom who has given birth to this little girl but is going to hand her over to another couple. The birth father also needs us to pray for him. His signature is just as important as the birth mother. We have another couple of friends who are there with them acting as the mediator for the adoption. Ask God to continue to give them wisdom.

Our friends have been a megaphone of God's goodness and grace in their lives. For the last 10 years, they have continued to trust God in their darkest days. I can not imagine how God is going to use this whole situation to bring Glory to Himself!

Please Pray!

I just checked my email before heading to the airport to fly home. I received exciting news from very dear friends of ours. They have wanted a baby for MANY years and are now at the hospital with a birth mother who is in labor. PLEASE PRAY with us that all goes well and the the birth mother and father follow through with their commitment to give their baby to them. This couple (I don't want to say their names on here until all is final!) has been a consistent example to so many people of how to trust God even when life is hard! I can't wait to see how God is glorified through this next chapter in their lives!!! Say a prayer for them now, okay? Thanks!

Friday at Disney! (PICTURE OVERLOAD!!!!)

We started out at Animal Kingdom on Friday. We had a list of things we wanted Jonah to experience at all 4 parks. So, in order to accomplish them all, we headed out as soon as he woke up Friday morning. This is the first picture we took. He was quite content sitting on his own during the tram ride. I picked him up for a picture and he was not thrilled with that idea.

We had to FLY through the park in order to make it to the next showing of the Finding Nemo musical. It looks like Jonah is about to fall out of Dan's arms but he was enjoying leaning back and making Dan grab him back up.

The musical was WONDERFUL! A must see for any of you planning a trip to Disney anytime soon. It was a little long for a toddler but still fantastic.

After the musical, Jonah was ready for a nap. I laid his stroller back an gave him some juice so he could sleep for a little. We knew he would need a few naps so we took his big stroller rather than the Maclaren we bought for Disney last year. I think that was a good decision for the amount of time we spent in the parks this year.
He didn't go to sleep after a while of strolling him around so we decided to ride one of the rides with him. As you can see, he was still a bit sleepy!

I love this next picture. He looks so innocent and so happy. What am I saying? He IS innocent (most of the time) and happy (most of the time!)
Jonah & I rode in the back of the dinosaur so Dan could video him from the front. I can't wait to see all of the video Dan took. MAYBE, I will get an edited version SOON! (HINT, HINT!)

After the ride, we walked over to the playground and let him run wild for a little bit. Poor Dan chased him all around that playground in the heat. They went way up high and then Jonah spotted us down below. He suddenly wanted mommy!!!

After that, we attempted a nap...AGAIN! It actually worked this time. He slept for almost 2 hours. I found a gift shop that was VERY cool and just parked inside there so he could sleep comfortably!

After we finished at Animal Kingdom, we headed to Epcot for the rest of the day. Jonah was quite intrigued with all the thing inside Innoventions. ESPECIALLY the firetruck. I've been looking for a theme for his new 'big boy' room. I think firetrucks may be it!!!!

Dan took this picture hen I found it on the camera later. It made me smile. I love the (few) pictures we get of him smiling for the camera.

One of the highlights of Jonah's trip was feeding the duck. That made us glad that we have spent all of this time and money coming here. I mean, he could never do that at home, right?

He LOVED "The Seas with Nemo and Friends!" The clammobile was a huge hit for him. The pics inside aren't that great because it was dark and I couldn't see him in the viewfinder.

After the ride, there were lots of huge windows of nothing but fish. He was quite fond of that. He would have stayed there the rest of the day.

He made a friend at "Turtle Talk with Crush." It was so sweet to see him interact with the little boy in Orange. Well, until he told that little boy where to move. He is so sure of what he thinks he wants.

It was a BUSY day but so much fun. He handled everything like a trooper. As usual, it was fun to experience something through his eyes.
