This could be why Max doesn't like me!!!

I think I have figured out why Max doesn't like me as much as I like him?!?!?! I mean, take tonight for instance...

He has this little fragment of a pig's tail from one of his toys that he guards with his life. He loves the thing. He carries it from room to room and has kept up with it for as long as I can remember. This piece of material is about the size of a dime. Well, when I'm in a playful mood, I pick that up just to stress the poor animal. Tonight, I had it in my hands when mommy told me to give it back to Max. So, I did...I put it on his back! HA! It was too light for him to notice it on there. He didn't see it in my hand or anywhere around me so it freaked him out.

He looked at me and I just held my hands out as if to say "I don't know where you stupid, dime-sized piece of a pig's tail is!" He got mad and just sat down to pout! (What a baby!!! He is six years old...he should grow up!)
Then, just to add insult to injury, I sat in his bed. Oooh...that really got to him. Since we got new furniture, he isn't allowed to sit on it. So, mom bought him a bed that matches our living room decor. He really does like it but would still rather sit on the couch. But, since he isn't allowed on the furniture, he settles for his bed and is becoming somewhat fond of it. So, it really got to him when I got in it and wouldn't get up.
Look at him nudging me out! He tried his best to use his nose to nudge me right out of that bed. I guess he doesn't realize how much I weigh.
Wow...he did it! That little goober sent me toppling right over. Maybe I should rethink being mean to him. He is stronger than I realized.

A letter to Santa

Dear Santa,

I'm sending this to you with pictures so you can understand my wish. Tonight, I was dressed for bed and came to the living room to play for a while before bed. Mommy rolled the ball over behind Daddy's chair for me and Max to play with.

Well, the phone rang and when she turned around, this is what she saw...

Yes, Santa...I have become VERY active. I really would like some things for my yard so I can climb to my heart's content. Otherwise, I might ruin my new toy box from climbing on top of it.

Seriously, can you resist this face? I promise to be good and not act the way I did when I met you other day.

My Mittens

This was a rather odd morning. When my door opened, I expected to see my mom or dad but Aunt B came in to get me instead. She has never gotten me out of bed in the morning so I was very confused. A few minutes later, mommy came in. I still wasn't sure what was going on. They got me dressed and then fed me. During my breakfast, the door opened and closed several times with mom and dad coming and going. I could not figure out what was going on.

Well, come to find out, we were having a garage sale at my house. We opened the door to go outside and there were people everywhere!!! It wasn't really cold enough for mittens but mommy knew I'd be outside for a little while before getting in the car for school. I was very intrigued by these things.
Mr. Hibbs stopped by the house to check our progress. Well, that is what he said he was doing but I'm convinced he just stopped by to see me. The man loves me!
P.S. The garage sale was a HUGE success. We made about $1200 between the 5 of us! Not bad for a days work, huh?

Santa Pictures

I had an early morning today. I left my house an hour earlier than normal so I could go to the Lower to have pictures made with Santa. (Which, by the way, I am not convinced was the REAL Santa because he didn't have reindeer or gifts!!!) We had to wait a little while so I used the time to check things out at Vidalia Lower Elementary. They even had a little desk that was just my size.

When I got in there to meet Santa, I WAS NOT impressed. Those of you who think I am cute and sweet all of the time should have been a part of this meeting. I freaked out! I screamed and kicked. I wish my mom had explained that this is the same person who "knows if you've been bad or good" because I would have been on my best behavior. Unfortunately, he saw me at my absolute worst!!! Just wait until you see my professional Santa pictures. I'm screaming, reaching for my daddy and have a big snot bubble coming out of my nose. Nice, huh? I'm guessing I won't end up on his good list!!!!

Fun with Marlie and Joshua

Marlie and Joshua came to my house after church tonight. I had fun playing with them. I showed them all of the toys in the living room. I didn't even act selfish. Although, I did show LOTS of interest in some toys that I have not touched in a while.

Marlie was so sweet and gave me two hugs before she left. I won't see her until Friday, so I hope those hugs last me until then!!

The first glimpse of Christmas! (From the mommy)

Ahhh...Christmas through a child's eyes! What could be better? We put our tree up last year and Jonah was just mesmerized by it. He would sit in his carrier/car seat and just stare. He loved the sights and sounds and we loved watching him. We felt sure this year would be a little different...IT IS!

He is absolutely infatuated with balls. This presents a small problem because he is convince all of the ornaments are "BAWS." That means he thinks he should get to play with them. That is not good when 90% of our ornaments are balls of some sort. He is so proud of himself when he gets one off the tree and presents it to me. He is so used to doing that with his toy balls and always getting a "Yay, Jonah" or "That's is a ball." I'm still trying to teach him to look without touching. He is actually doing pretty well. We'll see how that progresses as the days go by.

I was getting his diaper bag ready for church tonight when I realized he wasn't next to me. I walked into the living room and found him next to the tree. His eyes were huge and he was pointing at tree saying "Chee." (We've been working on the word TREE but hey...I'll settle for CHEE!) I sat down next to him and pointed to the ribbon and lights and ornaments and told him what each thing was. He looked at me and said "Da-Da!" You may think that isn't very impressive, but you must know, anything good is "Da-da." He equates all greatness with his daddy. He calls him "da-da" everytime he sees him but usually anything that makes him smile is also "da-da!" I guess that is what happens when you have a wonderful "da-da!" That becomes the standard for all measurements of greatness!

I walked to the kitchen to grab the phone and came back to find Jonah unwrapping a gift. (Sorry, Gavin!) He got to unwrap a gift at his grandparent's house last week and now thinks it is his responsibility to unwrap them all! That might prove to a struggle over the next few weeks.

If you ask Dan how Christmas was last year, his response is usually "STORYBOOK!" He said it was perfect and just "One of those storybook days!" I know we are less than a week into the Christmas season, but I have a feeling it is only going to get better this year. His eyes are so big and he just smiles when he sees the lights and decorations. Man...this is the life!!!!

Playing outside after school

My mom comes home with me on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. Today, the weather was really nice, so we got to play outside. Mommy kept saying I looked like such a little boy. She thinks I am pretty cute!

Helping with decorations

My dad unloaded LOTS of boxes out of our storage room last night. The boxes were full of Christmas stuff. Mom started unpacking them and I decided to help. I'm pretty sure she was not all that appreciative of my help.

If she took something out of a box, I put it back in. I mean, isn't that what we normally do? We always put stuff up after we get it out. I was just trying to help.

Then, my mom went to the back to put some ornaments on the tree in my room. While she was gone, I got in one of the boxes so I could smush all the stuff down to make more room in the box. How was I supposed to know I was sitting on breakable things? Maybe someone should have marked the box "BREAKABLE."
Mom got some pretty ribbon that matches our living room. She planned to use it on the tree and on the garland around the room. I planned to use it for other things...UNTIL she took it from me.
