My busy Friday

I have had a very busy day today. I started my day at Preschool. Mommy knew I really enjoyed my snack, because when she picked me up, I had remnants of Cheetos from the top of my head all the way to my knees. I love those things!! As usual, she left her camera in my bag at school today. She was very happy to find pictures of me playing. Please note: I finally moved out of the kitchen and am playing with some boy toys!!!!

Mallory, Gabe & I had fun playing with the farm toys. My school has such fun things to play with.

Sometimes, when we get bored playing with the toys, we eat them! If you don't believe me, just look at me and Mallory!
After preschool, we me the Hibbs' for lunch at Ruby Tuesday. I was very thirsty. I drank an ENTIRE sippy cup of juice before our food arrived.

My Hibbs squenched up his face at me again today, so I did it back at him. I don't know why, but every time I do that, people laugh and cheer. I guess I will start doing it more. You know how I love applause!!!

After lunch, we headed to the Natchez Pediatric Clinic for my ear check with Dr. Russ. Today, they weighed me on the big scale...not the baby scale! Can you believe that? I'm so glad my mom had her camera or she would have been distraught that she missed that photo op! Dr. Russ checked my ears and changed the antibiotic drops that we use. My left ear is completely clear but my right ear is still having problems. It is a GOOD thing I have those tubes or I would be in a mess! Dr. Russ had a nursing student observing her today. Since I had an audience, I was extra good and did my best to impress them both. (It worked!)

Weekly Update (From the mommy!)

Jonah is so intrigued by his closet. When the door opens, he stops whatever he is doing and heads to the closet. He always finds something to pull out of there. The pair of shoes in the lower left pocket (on the closet door) is usually his first choice. I spend more time cleaning up what he pulls out of there than I do on the rest of the house combined!!! It is amazing how quickly he get stuff out of there.

There is a little background history to explain the next few pictures. When Jonah was first born, Max had a difficult time not being the 'baby' of the house. He was used to being held and sitting in our laps at night. He thought if we were sitting in a chair, that he was supposed to be in our lap. So, when we would try to feed and rock Jonah at night, he kept trying to jump in our lap or sat next to us and just whimpered.

Well, I got the idea to get Max's dog bed out and put it next to the glider in his room. The idea was that we could pet Max while rocking Jonah. It worked like a charm. After just a few weeks, Max began to go straight to his bed when we were in Jonah's room. After some time, I moved his bed behind the glider so you didn't notice it when you walked into Jonah's room.

In the last week, Max's bed has become Jonah's new hangout. He thinks that is the place to take every toy. He picks up something to play with and squeezes behind the chair to sit down and play with it.

After we play in Jonah's room for a couple of hours each night, he is not too happy when he realizes it is time for bed. Once we take his clothes off and he sees the PJ's come out of the drawer, he tries to escape!!! Last night, he went straight for Max's toy and started shaking it, in hopes of diverting our attention away from the bedtime ritual.

After playing with Max for a quite awhile, I guess he got tired because he grabbed his toy and threw it in his toy box as to say, "That's all for tonight, Max!"
Max was not happy about this decision. He wanted his toy out...RIGHT THEN!!! He whimpered and whined until we gave him his toy back.

Little BLUE Riding Hood

Sometimes in the morning, my mom or dad gets me out of bed, changes my diaper, dresses me and puts me back in the bed. They know I'm not going back to sleep, but they put me there with toys so I can play while they are getting ready for work. I've gotten so 'busy' these days that I have to be contained or I will destroy something.

Well, this morning, my mom dressed me and put me back in the bed and waited for daddy to find me. She put this outfit on me and pulled the hood up over my head. It made her laugh all the way down the hall. Then, daddy came in a got quite a chuckle out of it too.

Thursday afternoon

I spent the day with Caroline and Mrs. Trudie today. I had so much fun with them. When my mom came to pick me up, she needed to run to Wal-Mart but I was a little tired. So, she took me home to feed me and let me rest for a little bit. After a little rest, she changed my clothes and we headed out.

For some unknown reason, she pulled this random pair of shoes out of my closet for me to wear. Apparently, Mr. Hibbs picked them out at the Gap outlet a while back but they just now fit me. I don't know what he was thinking...those are the strangest shoes I have ever seen. They have something that goes in between my toes. What's up with that? I could barely walk in those things.

My mom took me outside so I could walk around for a little bit before heading to Wal-Mart. After being outside for a little while, I finally quit 'high-stepping' in them and started to walk normal.

This is the face I make when mommy puts me in the buggy but doesn't let me keep her keys to play with. (She seems to think I will lose them in the store and then we won't have a way to get home!! Give me a little credit, mom!!)
And, this is what I do when mommy asks "Jonah, where's daddy?" It is her most absolute favorite thing that I do these days. My cousin Bayleigh used to do the same thing when she was my age. I guess she passed it down to me.

Have you ever had a Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwich? If not, I highly recommend you try it. I am especially fond of the jelly portion!! I made a huge mess but it was worth it.

Even though my sandwich was very good, I was nice enough to share with my daddy. That is nice, huh?

Now that Blogger has a video option, it is much easier to post videos than it used to be. That is why there is an influx of videos these days. If you'd like to see more of me eating my PB&J, then click play below. By the way...for those of you who don't know, Aunt Tam (from my church) always throws her arms up in the air when she sees me and says "YAY, JONAH!" Well, any time I want applause, I just go ahead and throw my hands up in the air.

Playing in my room

We spend most nights at home in my room playing. We go in there and shut the door (so I can't escape!) and play until bedtime. I love it!!! I usually don't get told "NO" very often because everything in there is for me. Tonight, I got very tickled while I played with my cars and my dog. This is the life!

First of all, let me apologize for not wearing pants in any of these pictures. From time to time, my parents put me down for a nap with just a diaper and t-shirt. That is fine with me because it is very comfortable. BUT, it is not fine with me when mom pulls out the camera and never considers fully clothing me!!!

OK, back to this post...when I was born, my MiMi had a wreath made for the door to my room. It was all the colors that match my nursery and had a car, truck and helicopter on it to match the theme of my room. That wreath has stayed on my door since I got home from the hospital. My mom decided it was time for it to come down. Before tossing the wreath, she took the car, truck and helicopter off for me to play with.

I wasn't exactly sure what to do with them at first, but then my daddy showed me how to play with them. Mommy tried to teach me to say "Vroom-Vroom" but I never did.

It kind of looks like Max is doing "business" in the next picture, but he isn't. He had just been run over by my car and lost his footing. That poor dog...even I feel sorry for him sometimes! I'm pretty sure his life was MUCH more calm 14 months ago!!

Here is a video of me (well, really my daddy) playing with the car, truck and helicopter the first time. I bet my Mimi didn't know I (or daddy) would enjoy these toys 14 months after she had the wreath made!

Lunch with the Hibbs'

After my mom picked me up from preschool, she took me to lunch at Sonny's Pizza. Normally, I go home right after school but I don't have a nanny anymore. So, mom took me to lunch before heading home for the day. I could get used to hanging out with my mom in the middle of the day. It looks like that will be the trend until she finds someone else to stay with me while she works. Tomorrow, I get to stay at Caroline's house with Mrs. Trudie and Caroline. Then, on Wednesday, Aunt Tam is coming over to stay with me after preschool. Thursday is open if anyone wants to volunteer? :-)

Mr. Hibbs was very funny! He made me laugh. He squenched up his face at me and I did the same back at him. After we did this several times, mommy got it on video. I like him. Maybe he will come stay with me on Thursday?? Or, better yet...maybe he will just give my mom the day off and she can stay with me! :-)

Here, Max (from the mommy!)

A while back, Jonah started 'calling' Max by patting Dan's leg. He hasn't figured out that he can call Max by patting his own leg. It always makes us laugh when he does this. We thought you might like to see!
