Friday night in Memphis

I'm in Memphis with mom and dad for Granny Bee's 80th birthday party. Her actual birthday was Wednesday but we are celebrating this weekend. Mom had to work this morning so we didn't get here until dinner time tonight. We headed straight to Uncle Glenn and Aunt Susan's because everyone else was already there. I was glad to be out of that car seat.

After dinner, daddy played the Nintendo Wii for the first time. It was really funny watching him and Uncle Chris then him and GiGi box each other. After boxing, daddy and Uncle Doug played golf on the Wii. We all sat around and watched them. It was past Gavin's bedtime and he was very sleepy.
Gavin had a very cool toy that I was quite fond of. It was an Elmo/Cookie Monster magna- doodle.
Ella was very serious while she was checking out the Wii controls. She had it all figured out but they never let us play.
Uncle Doug and daddy were playing golf but I wanted Uncle Doug's attention. So, I stood in front of him and stared at him.
He finally noticed me and took my toy away. He wasn't being mean, he thought I was giving it to him. In reality, I was trying to show him my beautiful artwork. (or scribble, as some might say!)
Granny got lots of lovin' from Amelia. They share the same middle name. Amelia is 3 months old now and very pretty. Mommy said I used to be little like her but I don't really remember that.

Ella, Gavin and I had lots of fun playing with balls tonight. Daddy showed them how he throws balls at me and bounces them off of my head. (Don't worry...it is getting me ready for soccer!) After just a few minutes, he was bouncing the ball off of Gavin and Ella's heads too. We can all be soccer players now.

Gigi ended up on the other side of the room with me and Gavin. I was in her lap checking out the Wii control and Gavin was on the table coloring with the markers.

I think Uncle Glenn is quite fond of us kids. He got down on the floor with us to play. I think he is pretty cool. He made me laugh...A LOT!

We left their house about 9:15 headed to the hotel. We had to leave early enough to get to Walgreens to pick up my ear drops. I'm still having a little problem with my ears draining. Dr. Russ said that means my tubes are working just like they should. After leaving Walgreens, we got to our hotel and got checked in. Mommy fed me some more since I didn't eat much at dinner. She didn't have a highchair so she had to sit me on the table in our room. I was not very interested in eating because I wanted to stand up and stare at myself in the mirror.

That's all for tonight. Check back tomorrow because I'm going to the zoo and then to Granny's 80th birthday party!! I'll have lots to tell you tomorrow night.

Update for the week! (from the mommy!)

Whew! What a week! We have had a lot going on so I have not had time to upload pictures. My diaper bag camera has been off and on for the week, so there aren't very many pictures. I am definitely in the market for a new one. When that happens, you will be able to see more pictures.

I still leave my camera in Jonah's bag when I take him to preschool. It is always fun to get in the car and look at the pictures that his teachers took. I do find it very humorous that the majority of the pictures find Jonah in the kitchen!!! He his obsessed with the stove and fridge.

I'm not sure what he was doing with the highchair but it looks like he was having great fun!

Jonah is loving his time at preschool. He is already learning so much. I have been trying for a month or so to teach him to blow kisses. My attempts have been fruitless. Tuesday night, he looked at me and blew me a kiss. I thought it might be a mistake but then he did it again. He continued to do it all night. When I dropped him off the next morning, they blew him a kiss when they saw him. I asked if they did that often and she said "ALL THE TIME!"
I can also tell a difference in his vocabulary. He is saying more words and talks ALL THE TIME. It is so much fun to hear him see something and say what it is. Wow...he is growing up too fast!! (But, it is SO MUCH FUN!!)
When we got to church Wednesday night, we headed to the sanctuary to see Dan. Jonah headed straight for the steps. He LOVES to be on the platform.
Bro. Joshua came right over to play with him. It has been kind of fun to watch his progression of feelings for Joshua. He has gone from compete disdain to adoration. He lights up when he sees him. I think he is trying to kiss up to Joshua in hopes of getting free piano lesson one day.

By the way, in case you can't make it out, his shirt says "I Still Live With My Parents!" HA!
The last picture was from Sunday Morning. It isn't a great picture, but I wanted you to see what he does when you ask him where his ear is! See, he is learning! We are working on his nose now.
For those of you FBC, Vidalia members, the last picture is for you. If you were in church 2 weeks ago, Dan gave us a challenge in regards to our upcoming revival services. He challenged us all to read the Bible each day. The sermon was on God's word and how often we neglect it. Well, I thought you'd like to see Jonah doing his part to live up to the challenge!
He gets my Bible off of my nightstand every time he gets near it. I keep saying "Jonah, NO!" Now that I think about it, it probably isn't a very good idea to chastise him for wanting to read my Bible!

A fun afternoon!

My mom and dad had a scheduled lunch with Bro. John & Mrs. Carol Alley. I don't even know who that is. Apparently, he was the interim pastor at our church before my daddy was the pastor. I was going to go to lunch too so I could meet them. But, Sue-Sue said she would keep me instead. Well, I definitely got the better end of that deal. Had I gone with my parents, I would have been stuck in a boring high chair while listening to the boring grown-up conversations. INSTEAD, I went with Sue-Sue to lunch at the Chandlers! Whoo-hooo! Lunch at the Chandler's always means GOOD FOOD!

Josh and Manna were there so she took lots of pictures of me for my mom. Manna knows how much my mom likes to see what I do when she is away. She did a great job of documenting my day with the Chandler family! Since I knew these were for my mom, I was very animated!!! My mom LOVED the pictures, so I thought you might want to see them too!

(Don't worry...he wasn't biting me!)

Who knew a flower pot could be SO much stinkin' fun? I've gotta get one of these for my house!

See, I told you there were LOTS of pictures, but aren't they fun? I had a great time. The only thing that would have been more fun is if Tommy would have been here to play with me. I guess they will have to invite me back when he is home. (HINT, HINT)
