A day in Baton Rouge

My family went to Baton Rouge today. We had some things to return at Macy's and some things to get at Target. I'm not exactly sure what a birthday is but apparently I have one coming up and my mommy is HARD at work getting prepared for it. I think it may be fun because I saw some of the things she bought. I've heard her making plans for this birthday party with Manna, NeNe, Mr. Roy McKinney, Aunt Tam & Uncle Clare, Sue-Sue and Nick. Apparently they are all doing something to help. I can't wait to see how this all comes together. I think it's going to be fun. As mommy says, "I am only turning ONE once!"

I've done lots of new things this week. I think I told you that I mastered pat-a-cake after many months of trying. I can now wave bye-bye and I am starting to use some of my sign language. Today when mommy was feeding me, I kept signing "more" because I wanted more. I haven't mastered "all done" yet so I just close my eyes and mouth real tight when she comes near with the spoon if I am finished. I think all of these things I have learned this week must be good because every time I do them, people cheer. Yay me!

Anyway, back to Baton Rouge...
When we got to the Mall of Louisiana, mommy got my stroller out while daddy was holding me. Daddy spotted my Snuggli and decided it would be a good idea to "wear" me in the mall. Yeah...NOT A GOOD IDEA! I'm a big boy now and I was QUITE contained in that thing. I could barely move my arms. My legs went numb sometime before we made it inside the mall. I liked being up high like daddy but carrying me in his arms suits me just fine. I was glad to see them put that thing back in the box. I'm WAY too big for it.

Did you know my stroller has a window that lets me look up and see whoever is pushing me? I've ridden in that thing for almost 10 months and never knew that. Now I do! I kept looking up to make sure they were still there.
I even got to get out of the stroller and play while Daddy was looking for new shorts. They had a big window that let me see into the parking lot. Apparently, it is made out of REALLY strong glass because I tried my best to break it.

Directory Pictures

We went to the church tonight to have pictures made for our new Church Directory. Josh and Manna were there to have their picture made. They played with me while my mom and dad picked out our pictures. Our pictures must have been really good because it took them a LONG time to pick them out. It's okay because I had fun with Josh, Manna and all those other people waiting for their picture.

Randy & Roselinda Maxwell were waiting on their picture so they played with me too. Mommy said I needed to be in a picture with them because I was wearing the same colors as them. Daddy said I needed to get a wallet size picture and keep it with me in case I ever get in trouble with the law. (If you don't live here and know Randy, he is the sheriff of Concordia Parish!)
If you haven't been around me lately, then you haven't seen my latest trick. I do this all of the time. Sometimes I hold my hands up in the air, as to say "taa-daa!!"
I played in the back of Taddy's truck last night. I've never been in the back of a truck. I did notice that it kind of resembled a pool. So, when Taddy comes home again, I'm going to see if he will fill the back up with water.

Great pictures to surprise my mom

Tonight my mom uploaded pictures and found these pictures on her camera. She isn't sure if Miss Rachal or Mrs. Cindy took them but she LOVED finding them. She especially loved them because the pictures were of me and Max.
By the way, I don't know if you know this or not, but they have started "caging" me some while we are at home. Check out the pack-n-play in these pictures. My Granny and Granddaddy gave this to me to be used at mommy's work. I don't think intended it to be used as a torture device. As soon as I get a chance, I'll let them know what mommy and daddy are using it for.
They put it in the living room and filled it with toys hoping it will entertain (and contain) me. It does work some of the time but I can usually whine enough that they take me out.

In the Jungle, The Mighty Jungle...

I got this singing lion from the Hibbs for Valentines Day. It (along with The Love Bug from MiMi and The Singing In the Rain Duck from Teresa) has become a diaper change staple around our house. The only way I will stay still during changes is if I have one of the three of those things singing to me! I love to watch them and especially love it when I get my hands on one of them. Tonight, I got to play with the Lion as long as I wanted. Man, life is good sometimes!

Me & Mom before bedtime

Tonight I got to play with my mommy before my bedtime. We were in one of the guest rooms on the bed playing with my lion. She tried her best to get me to take a good picture with her but I was MUCH more interested in the lion.

She made a sad face so I did hug her for a picture but I did not smile. Hey...she can't have everything work out for her! That's life!

The bad thing about having teeth...

My mom is NOT very happy with me lately. I tend to "eat" my bed while she isn't around. It usually happens in the middle of the night. When she comes in to get me the next morning, there are usually new places chewed off the rail of my bed!!! She tried to find a cover for the rail but they don't have one to fit my bed. So, the rail looks like a chewed corn cob! It looks like I may be the last little one to use this bed.

From the Hibbs

Here I am all ready for church tonight. This is my new outfit from the Hibbs. Mr. Hibbs bought it for me in Vicksburg. He called Cathy and she was ALL for buying me something. I think they kind of like me! (Yay for me!)

My 9 month pictures

My mommy got a call today from Mrs. Anne McDaniel to say my proofs were in. She rushed right over to get them. Since they aren't online, she gives mommy permission to take pictures of them and post them to my blog. Obviously, the quality is NOTHING like what we have in the proof book, but this should give you a little taste of what the pictures look like.

My daddy uploaded more than what I posted on my blog to his facebook account. You can see them by clicking here. If you would rather just look on here, then scroll down and see the next few posts!

A present from Granny & Granddaddy

Today, when mommy got home from work, there was a big white envelope in the mail addressed to ME! I saw it was from my grandparents in Alabama so I got very excited. We opened it to find a blue hat for me a toy for Max. They went on a cruise a couple of weeks ago and got his hat just for me. As you can see, Max got a dog toy but I confiscated it. He was not happy about that. He was also not happy about having to sit next to me for a picture. (As evidenced by him leaning to the right in the first picture and getting ready to jump off the bed in the second picture!)

Ahhh...all is well for Max. He got his toy back and life is good. (for a while anyway!)
