My sick little fella! (from the mommy)

I am back at work after taking Jonah to the doctor. Dan took him to the house and is playing doctor daddy while I finish up things here. I dropped his prescription off at Walgreens and will pick it up on the way home.

We do have a sick little boy. He has a double ear infection with the left ear being VERY bad. Dr. Russ looked back in his chart and was reminded that he has had 4 ear infections since January. Guess what that means? TUBES! Dr. Russ explained all of our options but his history coupled with Dan's history basically spells out having tubes.

She said the good news is that we are at the end of winter and can wait another month or so to see if he gets another infection. If not, we should be able to wait until his first ear infection of the next winter. But, if he gets another infection after this round of antibiotics, then we will go to Jackson to have tubes put in ASAP.

Poor little guy! He's such a trooper.

Can I get a little sympathy??

This is my "Poor Jonah" sick face! Does it make you feel sorry for me?
If not, don't feel bad. I'm (obviously) not too sick to play!!!

I have a toy box (basket) in the living room that is full of toys. Usually, I get one or two toys to play with at a time. Tonight, they put me next to my toys and let me pick the toys I wanted to play with. (You see, I've been sick for the past two days and haven't been very content. They are trying most anything to keep my focus off of how bad I feel!!!)

P.S. For those of you wondering if I am any better...I'm not! It's 9 PM now and mommy just said she is calling Dr. Russ first thing tomorrow morning. Poor me! :-(

My first Easter gift

Last night, I was in the back being rocked to sleep by daddy when mommy heard a knock on the door. She went to see who it was and found Mrs. Gail and Dshay. Mrs. Gail has been in Tampa, FL but she flew home today. She even brought me a present. It is an Easter Bunny that sings "Jesus Loves Me." I love it! I didn't get to see it until this morning when I woke up. I could get used to waking up every morning to find NEW toys!!!

Hangin' out in my highchair

I spend a lot of time in my highchair. (Hey, no fat jokes!) I like to watch mommy cook or watch anyone get my food ready. I've discovered that I can see a WHOLE lot more when I am up high than down low. Mommy thinks it is funny when they put me in my highchair because I immediately open my mouth. (Even if food is nowhere in sight.)
Have I ever told you how much I LOVE LOVE LOVE Miss Rachal? She has been my nanny since the day after Christmas. I get so excited when I see her every morning. (and not just because she feeds me!)

Mr. Roy and Mrs. Gwen McKinney came over last night and brought gumbo. I didn't get a bit of it. Mommy did let me taste the chocolate cake. She only gave me a little bite because she said I didn't need the sugar. I have another idea as to why I only got one bite. Hmmm...

Goodbye Daddy!

My daddy left me AGAIN tonight. It's okay because he was going to be with Mrs. Judy for her surgery in New Orleans. I don't mind him being gone when he is helping other people. (But, I do miss him!!!!) He came home just before heading to N.O. so he could see me for a little bit. Isn't he great?

Ready for church

We had a busy morning today. Mommy had a baby shower in her Sunday School class for Doug & Katie Smith. She made 2 breakfast casseroles for her class. Since she had the food, their present and me, she was a little concerned about how she was going to get me and everything else in the car. Luckily, Aunt Tam called last night to say she would come by and help us. But, that meant I needed to be dressed and ready even earlier than usual. So, while we were waiting on her to get her, mommy took pictures of me all dressed for church. (Imagine that!) My mom found this whale sweater and striped pants at the Gap last year right after they decided to name me Jonah. That was the first of MANY whale related items I have received. I guess that is what happens when your name is JONAH!!!
