Cassidy's birthday

I went to Cassidy Malott's 1st birthday party today. Cassidy's mommy was one of my mommy's best friend in college. Mommy was in her parent's wedding and her mom was in my mom and dad's wedding. Cassidy and I have never even met before today. (It was nice of her to invite me to her party considering we have never laid eyes on each other, huh?) She lives all the way in Tupelo but came to Clinton for her birthday party. When we met, we had a little stare-off.

Here are the four friends from MC with all of their babies under a year old. (Mommy and me, Kathy and Cassidy, Sarah and Andrew & Kelly and Meredith!)
This picture is a little blurry but still funny. When we were trying to take pictures of the mommies with their babies, I was trying to kiss Cassidy. (Don't tell Caroline!!!)

Here is Cassidy. She was waiting on her birthday cake!

Here is my mommy and Kathy. Mommy said she never knew she was that much taller than Kathy. Speaking of mommy and Kathy...guess what I learned today? They had nicknames at MC. KRICK and KRACK! HA! I also learned that mommy CONVINCED Kathy to take Spanish with her. Mommy failed Spanish numerous times and Kathy went on to get a double Major in Spanish. I guess she can thank my mommy for that!!!

Can we say how much I love cake? Mommy only gave me one little taste of a cupcake then took it away. That was kind of mean.

This is my new friend, Andrew Carlisle. He is just a couple of weeks younger than me. His mommy and daddy went to MC with my mommy.
Awww....I love her already!! She only has girls so she had to soak up a little lovin' from a boy.
Yeah, I'm naked! Why is it that everyone else at the party was clothed and I'm naked? Life is SO NOT FAIR sometimes. Isabelle became very interested in me once I didn't have clothes on. She must like a man with rolls!
Without going into too many embarrassing details, I must tell you...the party went downhill from me after this picture. Let's just say that Mark & Kelly have to have their comforter cleaned, all of my clothes were bagged up for the trip home and I had to take a bath in a stranger's tub!!!

This is what happens when you leave children alone with a chocolate fountain! Thanks to this picture, mommy will probably not ever let me near a chocolate fountain.

New friends

I met lots of new friends tonight! We had a reunion at the Mraz's house. In 1997, when my mom was a youth minister at Faithview Baptist Church, she did a spring retreat. At that retreat, she invited Lee Smith to speak and Kevin Partridge to lead worship. Over the course of the weekend, the Mraz's got to know both of them and really liked them. Well, Kevin later married Carrie Bevell and Lee married Jenni Moyer. (and of course, mommy married my daddy!) The Mraz's have kept in touch with all of them/us but we haven't all been together since then. So, tonight was the night. The Partridges have three kids named Callie, Caleb and Katie. The Smith's have a little boy just a couple of months younger than me named Ford. It was fun to meet all of them.

Dressed for spring

Mommy dressed me for spring today. I think she was a little too early. I kept my shorts on for a couple of hours then changed clothes. Guess I'll try again in a few weeks.

I ate REAL food

Today has been a day of new things for me. I went to work with mommy, got a new car seat AND had table food. We went to Aunt Sue's house tonight. I was really hungry when we got there so mommy immediately fed me a jar of sweet potatoes. Since she took my booster seat with us over there, she pulled me up to the table with them. While everyone else was fixing their plates, mommy smashed up one of the butter peas and gave it to me. Then, she smashed a carrot for me. I loved them both. I ate carrots, peas and mashed potatoes. Can you believe it? Aunt Sue got a little bit teary-eyed over the whole thing. She said that I'm growing too fast and that it seems like just yesterday that I could only eat a bottle. Now, I'm eating table food! WOW!

A bigger car seat!

Check out my new ride!!! I got a brand new car seat. This one is convertible. It is rear-facing until I turn a year old. Then, it can be forward facing. I'm really looking forward to that. I can't imagine what it will be like to see the people in the front seat.
I hope this is a good car seat. My mom did TONS of research on the best one out there. Apparently she wants me to be as safe as possible. She bought it two weeks ago but has still been doing research just to be sure. She finally decided that this one was the best and let dad put it in the car tonight. I went for a ride and LOVED it.

At work with mom

I had my flu booster shot today so mommy picked me up on her lunch hour. My appointment wasn't until 1:30 p.m. so I went to work with her for a little while. I was a really good boy. I did whine a little bit but she turned the TV on for me. By the way, please notice I'm holding my own bottle now!! I am SUCH the big boy!!!
I sat in my mom's chair in her office. I reached up for the calculator and immediately put it in my mouth. Mommy should have known better than to leave it in my reach.

Mommy found these balls on clearance at Wal-Mart. I'm quite impressed with them. They have all sorts of textures and I love to grab them. Sometimes they put them just out of my reach but I roll right over to them. Pretty soon I will be crawling to reach whatever I need.

Stroller Man

It was so nice outside today. When Mommy got home from work, she loaded me up for a stroll around the neighborhood. Daddy had a meeting at 6 and wasn't going to come home. But, he couldn't stand the thought of not seeing me all day. So, he came home for about 45 minutes and went on a walk with us. Even Max went with us.

Max got tired on the walk. So, they put him in the stroller with me. I LOVED IT!! He did not!! It gave him great motivation to keep walking when he thought the remainder of the trip was going to be spent with me. Oh well! His loss...it sure was a comfy ride!!!

A good night for the lovebirds!

Tonight, I was sitting in my highchair eating green beans and there was a knock at the door. It was Mrs. Trudie and Caroline. I was very excited to see her. (But, not so excited that I quit eating!!) I showed her how to eat a whole jar of baby food without taking a breath. And, she got to see me eat Gerber Puffed fruit for the first time. I wasn't so sure about those things but liked them in the end. Now, when she is ready to eat them, she will know how.

Did you know my daddy plays guitar???

Last night I was in my exersaucer playing when my daddy shows up with this huge thing that made noise. I was very intrigued. He started doing something to it and it made the nicest sound. I wasn't sure I liked it at first. But, after just a few seconds, I decided it was okay. He even let me touch it. (I tried to eat it!)
